SANTA IRENE WINERY
Santa Irene winery manages over 20 hectacres of vineyards, perched high up on slopes at altitudes of up to
1350m, where the local Black “Mavro Ambelisimo” variety dominates and Local Xynisteri is found in
smaller plots. The vines have aged well over 150 years, and adapted well to the rocky, mountainous
Farmakas “terroir” (soil, climate and terrain). This unique combination of aged vines at high altitudes on
soil, rich in minerals, sunlight, natural rain, together with traditional winemaking and vineyard growing
techniques result in quality wines of distinctive character and complexity.
SAFARI VINEYARD TOUR
Discover the Farmakas vineyards by embarking on an off-road adventure in a private 4×4 vehicle, through
the century old vineyards. With over 20 hectares to explore, its one of the the best ways to get a real taste
of the mountainous vineyard area as well as learn about the viticulture and history of the region.
WINERY TOUR AND TASTING
Enjoy a tour of our winery, learning about the old and the new wine techniques, followed by wine tasting
where you will get to know and taste our wines. Sip on delicious whites, rose and reds while learning the
unique characteristics of each, and how the production process affects the flavour notes. Also, observe
how Zivania is made using our own Copper Distiller. Enjoy a gourmet lunch or dinner and take in the
breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain landscape while sipping on our awarded wines.
